Gardner, swallow meeting tuesday 17/4/18
I made a six hour round trip to Andy's pub, for today's meeting, which took one and a half hours. Below find two statements from the two of us. After my post below, I will not post on this subject again, I have repaired the crack that had Westham fan vs Westham fan having a go at each other. For me it stops now. We both put our cards on the table and mistakes have been made, We both agreed to build bridges. Our strength was always our unity and we must try and get that back and go on together. For me it's time to forgive and forget and move on. What can we gain by being split? We are all different and must learn to get on.

A statement from Andy Swallow.:

It's clear the time has come for our supporters to unite once again behind our team. The current in-fighting between fans has to stop. We've all got our own opinions of what the current board need to do for the good of our club. There's also a lot of fans who want rid of the board full stop. I understand that, and I've got to respect other supporter's views.

I entered this because, like all of us, I love West Ham United. It's my life, and the last thing I'd want to do- or envisaged happening- was to cause the division among us as it obviously has. It was never my, nor the Real West Ham Fans Action Group's intention, to create the current climate among our supporters. In the cold light of day however, I think that perhaps mistakes were made, and that these mistakes have hurt, angered and caused distrust among supporters. I therefore apologise unreservedly for the effect this has unwittingly had, in the hope this goes some way to bringing us together once more. There's been a lot of allegations made about me. Some of it has been water off a duck's back, some of it has hurt to the bone.

I can genuinely say I have never taken a penny from the club, be it a 'bung' or otherwise. People are entitled to their opinion, and I can't stop that. It hurts, but I'll take it on the chin for the best of OUR Club. It's time for us to take a leaf out of Bill's book and become united once more. When West Ham fans are truly United, there's no-one, anywhere, who can touch us. I sincerely hope we can achieve that, and move forward together to achieve the best for West Ham UNITED.

I think you're both drastically overestimating your importance.

A win and a couple of draws and everyone's mates again. Massive surprise. Ground is probably ok now too.

Hopefully this can now help somewhat to bring back the fans together again although the statement still doesn't quite explain why the march got cancelled swiftly.

Like it or not, more and more fans are sick of the board, their promises, excuses and half-truths. While some may still a point in trying to debate with them, others just want them out. Period.

So should another protest get planned now, it cannot be about beer shelves anymore. I suppose if the board don't deliver in the upcoming transfer window there will be no more meetings with fan groups but out and out protests.

Well done Bill!!
we really need to get behind the team for the remaining fixtures and hope relegation doesn't come to our great club.
Then up to the board to make the necessary changes to the shambolic recruitment process.
Lets hope they start to get these things right or it will be another hard long season for us all

Its great news that fans are attempting to build bridges again.

A united and undivided fan base is the biggest and most potent weapon we have to rid our club of these fucking lying, bullshitting parasites that currently reside in the boardroom.

Re: Gardner, swallow meeting tuesday 17/4/18
with all due respect, i've had enough of people telling me what to think, how to act and when to fall in line. had enough of that from the club.

genuinely glad you've got some closure on this bill mate but i'm just as in the dark as i was after swansea. dare say i'll remain in the dark till i croak it.

Re: Gardner, swallow meeting tuesday 17/4/18
Once again, I loved the sentiment of your Our Story video on youtube, filming in Green Street, Nathan's Pie &Mash, The Boleyn Pub, speaking to the Maltese Hammer coming to games with his daughter.

That video hit a nerve with loads of fans wanting to march against the board and their running of the club.

So, when the march got cancelled all of a sudden, people didn't know where to go with their built up anger. Hence the Burnley shenanigans.

I don't think bungs were taken by anyone, but our fanbase didn't come out of all this well. All due to misunderstandings and breakdown in communication.
It was a massive own goal for the fans unfortunately.
Time now indeed to forgive and forget.

I wonder though if we can build momentum again like this ever again once the owners let us down again...

Re: Gardner, swallow meeting tuesday 17/4/18
I am pleased that two long term fans have managed to put their recent differences aside and get on. However let's put this rift into perspective because there are literally thousands of fans who were unconcerned/unknowing about all this.

The world goes on and a change of heart by our owners is unlikely.

This is like watching Danny Dyer in a really bad film directed by Guy Ritchie. Get a grip and move on everyone.
